The center bald spot on the
mountain in the background was the site of the historical Echo Mountain
House that burned down years ago. It was there during the roaring 20's
(between 1894 and 1900). It was a full blown resort complete with
restaurant, dance hall, billiard room, and bowling alley.
You wonder what events inspired people there. You wonder what dreams were imagined as youth looked out from the mountain at night. Wandering around there you easily see that the site is being reclaimed by nature. |
