At
the trailhead Snow Nymph says the elevation gain the first couple of miles
would be steady. She wasn't kidding. ;-P Not only did it not let up, but
we took one casualty. Wames showed a lot of heart and tenacity as he stuck
it out with us in the beginning quite a distance. Eventually, we moved on
and and he went to find a new battleground. We took some photos (to
identify the body ;-> ), said our goodbyes, and parted separate ways.
However brief our encounter was, wames showed character and earned my
respect for being there.
